Hotel Materra has been awarded the Annual Green Building and Sustainable Environment Award in the Building of the Year—New Construction category, an award given by the Croatian Green Building Council since 2016.
The award aims to enhance the profession's reputation among the general and professional public, promote excellence in green building and sustainable environments, and continually improve principles of good business practices and circular economy, all with the goal of environmental preservation and sustainable development in the Republic of Croatia.
The award is given in 6 categories, and Hotel Materra received the award in the Building of the Year – New Construction category, which is reserved for buildings completed between January 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024.
Hotel Materra is one of the latest investments by Žito Group, a leading agricultural and food conglomerate from Slavonia. This four-star hotel, located in Čepin, represents a significant advancement in the group's operations, with the aim of developing Slavonia as a recognizable tourist destination. The investor's idea of respecting and immersing in nature is reflected in the design of Hotel Materra. The main goal was to create a hotel in a natural setting that does not disrupt the environment, and the hotel's interior reflects a commitment to nature and the land.
